Study on the Improvement of the Assessment System of Law Case Quality

Abstract:
The assessment system of law case quality is important for judicial introspection, internal supervision of courts and the standardization of courts’ judicial management. Before and after the founding of People’s Republic of China, China’s assessment system of law case quality went through five phases, namely, the infancy stage or the beginning of the system, the assessment system of individual cases quality, the assessment system of the overall case quality, the establishment and trial of the assessment system of law case quality and the operation of the assessment system of law case quality.
The Fourth Five-Year Reform Compendium issued by the Supreme People’s Court put forward important requirements to improve the assessment system of law case quality. Compared with the experience of other countries and judging from the current judicial practice, China’s assessment system of law case quality still lags far behind. Therefore, this article will incorporate the science of law and management to offer suggestions on how to improve the subjects, the way to collect data, the arrangement of assessment indicators and the use of assessment results in the assessment system of law case quality.
